| MPC's Taco Trike delivers FAST food!
Ever wonder what a high speed delivery vehicle for delicious tex-mex food might look like? We did, and here it is! When Retro Hobby began working on the Trick Trike Series reissues, the body of the radically stylized MPC Wedge Chopper kept reminding us of things - the moon, a wedge of cheese, and a big Taco! So, the story goes like this: A groovy little dude in Texas named "Zeke" operates El Paso's most popular food stand. So popular in fact, he starts gettin' calls on his cell phone from patrons wanting to order some chow! The solution? Taco Trike! A wild chopper with an "appetite for speed" with its injected motor and wide racing slicks. The "hot sauce" orange body decorated with flames and Zeke's famous logo can't be missed as this wild machine burns up the road, letting everybody know another hungry customer is about to be rescued!
PARTS - Every kit in the MPC Trick Trike series includes three sets of transparent parts, one molded in clear and the other two in translucent red and blue. This makes it really easy to install colorful tinted windows and lantern lenses for a crazy custom look! It's especially cool for the Taco Trike because it has the most clear parts. The rest of the kit is molded in white for easy painting and there's mucho chrome!
PACKAGING - We needed an "Artiste Grande" to "cook" us up some hot illustrations for this wild ride, so we sent a telegram to automotive stylist "Diamond Dave" Marek, who delivered the spicy solution! The artwork was passed over to Retro Hobby's Johnny "Von Xeno" Greczula so he could spread the jalapenos over the nachos to complete this picante package!
DECALS - Von Xeno has gone loco! The decal sheet is so big, it barely fits in the box! There's eight different colorful themes that can be used to create some very wild and unique versions of the model, including the "California Chilli Chopper", "Luna Cycle", "Wild Wild Wedge" (with or without woodie panels) and many more. Ay carumba!
This excellent model hasn't been available in over thirty years! Now you can build or collect it as part of Retro Hobby's Trick Trike four-kit set from the Flashback Vintage Model Kit Reissue Program. Bueno! |
