| MPC's MILK TRIKE celebrates Dan Woods Milk Truck Show Rod!
At Retro Hobby, we love to collect vintage model kits; the ones we built as youngsters, and the ones we wished we could have had back then! As adult collectors, we've always thought the body for MPC's 'T' Trike looked a lot like Dan Woods 60's Milk Truck show rod. When the opportunity arose to reissue the MPC 1/25 Cycle Series, we thought it would be neat to pay homage to Dan's original vehicle and release the 'T' Trike with "Milk" decals and stripes, just like the grahipcs painted on the real Milk Truck. We got in touch with Dan who was cool with the idea, but he wanted to remind everyone that the Milk Truck didn't "turn purple" until it was bought by Bob Reisner. Dan originally painted the body all in a beautiful pearl white, and you can too!
PARTS - Our plan for all the MPC Trick Trike reissues was to include three sets of transparent parts, one molded in clear and the other two in translucent red and blue. They turned out great and it's really easy to install colorful tinted windows, or even tinted lantern lenses for a crazy custom look! The rest of the parts are molded in white for easy painting, which modelers (including us) seem to like best; and there's a dairy full of chrome!
PACKAGING - To make sure the Milk Trike looked "Retro Fresh" on the box art, we rustled up some cool illlustrations from that west coast "custom cowboy" and renowned automotive illustrator "Diamond Dave" Marek. Retro Hobby's city slicker, Johnny "Von Xeno " Greczula laid out the box panels and added the finishing touches. This "cream team" went and "milked it" for all they were worth to create a "carton" that will never go sour!
DECALS - Von Xeno carefully recreated authentic looking "Milk" logos and stripes for the Milk Trike version, then went "mad cow"! He added several more mod decal designs allowing the builder to easily customize their kit with themes including the delectable "Cream Cycle" and cool 'n refreshing "Pop Machine"!
We are really excited about the Milk Trike kit and know you'll have a blast building and collecting it. This wild model hasn't been available in over thirty years and it's really going to "moo-ve", so don't miss out! You can get it in Retro Hobby's exclusive Trick Trike Series four-kit set; the first releases from the Flashback Vintage Model Kit Reissue Program. "Keep on Trikin'!"
